The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence
For thousands of years, people have looked to the skies and wondered if they were alone in the universe. Now, through science and technology, we actually have the means to find out. In the past 15 years, we have discovered over 400 planets orbiting other stars. What stars might have planets with life? And how might we hope to seek out and communicate with advanced alien life forms?
Dr. William Gutsch, Distinguished Professor in the College of Arts & Sciences at St. Peter’s and Former Chairman of the American Museum-Hayden Planetarium will take you on a colorful adventure in search of extraterrestrials across our galaxy.
This fun, illustrated talk is designed for adults and young people 8 years of age and up and will be the Inaugural Event for an upcoming "Science on Saturdays” series beginning in the fall at Saint Peter’s College. Dr. Gutsch’s talk is sponsored by the PARSE Institute at Saint Peter’s College and will take place on Saturday, March 27 at 1:30 PM in the lecture hall on the first floor of Gannon Hall on the Saint Peter’s College main campus on Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City. Admission and parking is free. |
